New delicatessen Ottolenghi is definitely worth a visit. Its croissants were named “best in London” by Time Out – hardly surprising since they take three days to make in the traditional French way.
The deli opened on March 1 and is the fourth Ottolenghi shop in London. Manager Trisha is passionate about her fresh food, all made on-site in a kitchen below the shop. “We do lovely fresh salads, roasted aubergines, oven-dried tomatoes, roasted beetroot, fresh French bean salads, roast potatoes, roasted chicken, beef fillet – you name it and we’ve got it”, she says.
Ottolenghi’s varied menu is a tribute to London’s cultural diversity, with Palestinian, Israeli, Italian, French, Australian, Japanese and British influences coming together to create mouth-watering food.
There is also a café in the deli, where you can pop in for breakfast, lunch or coffee.
Ottolenghi is at 13 Motcomb Street. Visit www.ottolenghi.co.uk for more details.
