The Osborne Studio Gallery is to hold an exhibition of racing photographs by award-winning photographer Edward Whitaker. The show coincides with the release of Mr Whitaker’s book, In The Frame: Great Racing Photographs. It will feature 22 limited edition prints of his favourite photographs from the book.
The prints, taken from the author’s personal archive, are themed around spring, summer, autumn and winter. They include the biggest races from around the globe – Cheltenham, Royal Ascot, Goodwood, Aintree, Santa Anita and Hong Kong. There are also candid shots of some of the leading figures in racing, including Ginger McCain, trainer of Red Rum, and jockey Frankie Dettori. Photographs of every day life behind the scenes of the race course are also featured. Each photograph comes with extended captions from the author, setting the scene and explaining the context of where each photograph was taken.
The exhibition takes place from Tuesday September 30 to Thursday October 2, between 10am and 6pm. The Osborne Studio Gallery is at 2 Motcomb Street, SW1X 8JU. For more information call 020 7235 9667 or visit www.osg.uk.com
